Gold Coast Ocean Rescue takes viewers inside the drama-packed missions of the Sea World Foundation – saving the world’s most vulnerable marine animals.
Whales, dolphins, sea turtles, penguins, dugongs, marine birds, sharks, even sea snakes – no rescue is too risky, and no two rescues are the same.
Whether it’s manhandling man-eating sharks or releasing distressed whales from fishing nets, the rescues are emotional, dramatic… and dangerous.
When an animal is too injured or sick to be released on the spot, it’s brought back to Sea World for treatment at its state-of-the-art facility. The aim with all animals is to rescue, rehabilitate and release.
It can be a perilous road to recovery, full of highs and lows for the team, but when it comes time for the animal’s release, it’s a moment of great pride and triumph.
Gold Coast Ocean Rescue also showcases the ground-breaking research and conservation carried out by Sea World across the globe. From sea lions on windswept Kangaroo Island to whales in the icy waters of Norway, the team goes to incredible lengths to save the planet’s endangered sea creatures.
